A few practical things that keep mornings and afternoons running smoothly for AEA families.

Report any absence by 9:00 a.m. through ParentSquare or by calling the front office. Hot lunch is available daily through our meal program, and families are welcome to pack from home. Scottsdale-area transportation routes are available for an additional fee.

Parent Portal

ParentSquare keeps you connected.

AEA uses ParentSquare as the single hub for school communication. Every family receives an invitation at the start of the year.

In ParentSquare you can read classroom and school messages, view your child's grades and progress reports, sign permission forms, report absences, and sign up for conferences. Notifications are available in your preferred language and by email, text, or app. If you need an invitation or help logging in, contact the front office and we will get you set up the same day.

Parent–Teacher Organization

Our PTO organizes family events, the annual book fair, and teacher appreciation. New families are always welcome to join.

Classroom volunteers

Help in classrooms, the library, or at STEAM lab. Volunteers complete a quick background check through the front office.

Health & Wellness

Healthy, supported students.

Our health office and counseling team help students stay well and ready to learn.

A health aide is on campus during school hours to handle medications, minor injuries, and illness. Arizona immunization records are required at enrollment. School counselor Angela Brooks supports social-emotional learning, small-group sessions, and family referrals. Reach the health office or counselor through the front desk at any time.

Public Information

As a public charter school, AEA posts the records below for families and the community.

Board public notices

The Board of Directors meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Agendas are posted at least 24 hours in advance; minutes are posted after approval.

Family handbook & policies

The 2026–2027 family handbook covers attendance, dress code, behavior, technology, and grievance procedures. Printed copies are available at the front office.

Annual report & finances

The school's annual report and audited financial statements are available to families on request from the front office.

How do I report an absence?

Send a message in ParentSquare or call the front office by 9:00 a.m. on the day of the absence.

Where is the lunch menu?

The monthly menu is posted in ParentSquare and available at the front office. Meals are about $3.50 per day.

Is there a dress code?

Yes — a standardized navy-and-white dress code. Full details are in the family handbook.
